Model hierarchy

We separate manufacturer, market brand, marketed model, regional or electrical variant, and mechanical platform family. A model is merged only when documents support the shared platform; otherwise it remains a research candidate.

Review pipeline

1. Local tools extract OCR, tables, page numbers and candidate part numbers.
2. An extractor proposes a relationship with exact evidence.
3. Deterministic rules check suffixes, serial ranges and ratings.
4. An independent reviewer reads the original evidence without seeing the first explanation.
5. Disagreements remain unknown or conflicted unless stronger evidence resolves them.

Relationship types

Same OEM part, manufacturer supersession, standard consumable, aftermarket equivalent, donor part, modified fit and reproduction are different facts. The site will not collapse them into one “compatible” label.

What V1 confirms

A “documented row” means an exact model parts document prints that OEM number at the cited PDF page and locator. “Shared OEM number” requires separate model documents to print the same complete number. Neither status promises current stock, aftermarket equivalence or fit outside the displayed model and edition.

The current register contains 266 independently blind-reviewed model-document assertions, 2 assertions resolved by direct source-page adjudication after blind review, and 0 awaiting independent review. Each part page exposes that distinction. Safety-critical compatibility and replacement recommendations have a separate expert-review gate even when document identity is clear.

Document rights

Source PDFs are hashed and inspected in a private evidence workspace. Unless redistribution rights are positively reviewed, public pages link to the source and publish only structured facts and short identifying metadata.
